West Virginia High School Football Scoreboard - Quarterfinals

Top-ranked South Charleston (12-0) dodged a bullet on Saturday beating Martinsburg 28-21 to advance to its first appearance in the West Virginia Class AAA state semifinals since 1994. SC had to come-from behind twice. Next week the Black Eagles will play Morgantown for the right to go to the state championship game. Click here for game recap story.

West Virginia High School Football Playoff Preview

West Virginia's Class AA bracket is a very interesting one this year when it comes to the second round. Wayne is back in the post-season for the 10th straight year and a win against Shady Spring on Friday could set-up a showdown with defending state champ Bluefield in the second round. Wayne's post-season streak is the longest active one in the state. The Pioneers have also reached the semifinals four straight years, with quarterback Joey Ferguson leading the way during the last two seasons, including winning the AA championship in 2006. West Virginia High School Football Scoreboard - Week 10

Last year, Bluefield and James Monroe battled for West Virginia's AA football championship. Halloween night, the were battling to make sure that they both make the post-season. Both teams entered the game ranked in the state's Top 10 and when the smoke cleared, defending state champ Bluefield stood the victor 34-21. Both schools are now 6-3 with one week to go before the playoffs. Click here for a game recap.

Defending Pennsylvania State Champs Looking to Make Some Noise in Kickoff Classic Tripleheader

Pennsylvania's defending 4A and 3A state champs will find out how good their 2008 teams are Monday when they face national powers in the Friends of Coal Prep Classic in Wheeling, West Virginia.

4A champ Pittsburgh Central Catholic opens its regular season with two-time national champ Lakeland (FL), while 3A champ Thomas Jefferson faces nationally-ranked Glenville from Cleveland, Ohio. Glenville opened its season last week knocking off St. Ignatius (#16 USA Today Super 25).

In the nightcap of the tripleheader, four-time defending West Virginia Class A state champ Wheeling Central Catholic will played Steubenville Catholic Central (OH).

Ohio-West Virginia Football Jamboree Continues to Grow


A bigger and better Wheeling Hospital Football and Band Jamboree will be held next Friday and Saturday at Wheeling Island Stadium. Event organizers have announced that the second year, which features high school football teams from Ohio and West Virginia, event has grown from eight teams last year to 18 this year.

With more teams, the Jamboree will now be spread-out over two days instead of one. Friday's schedule features four games with Ohio teams and then five games on Saturday with schools from West Virginia.

Friday's Ohio action kicks-off at 1PM with East Liverpool playing Harrison Central, followed by Shadyside taking on Shenandoah at 3:10PM. Meadowbrook will square-off with Martins Ferry at 5:20PM with the nightcap featuring St. Clairsville and Cambridge at 8 o'clock.

1:10PM - John Marshall vs. Tyler Consolidated
3:20PM - Wheeling Park vs. University
5:30PM - Weir vs. Linsly
